After "AAP" government hike of entertainment tax on DTH, Videocon D2H and other DTH service increase price of monthly base pack.
Videocon D2H added a topup "D Entertainment", when called to customer service they informed us that it is extra tax for Delhi. "D Entertainment" price will be deducted per month Rs.8.00.
Rs.8.00 is applicable for base pack; if you are using any higher pack (platinum or other) then you may have to pay high tax charges. Some other DTH operators increased price for all over India.
For example:
Before Dish TV base pack price was Rs.241 per month, now you have to pay Rs.250 per month and same action taken by TATA Sky DTH and Airtel Digital TV.
You can also visit your current DTH service providers website for latest information of updated monthly subscription prices. There is not fault of DTH operators because this price is hiked by state government.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has hiked the entertainment tax under the new budget. Direct-to-home operators and Delhi-based multi system operators (MSOs) have termed the hike in entertainment tax.
So now both MSOs and DTH players are now deliberating on an advertising campaign to inform subscribers of the hike in entertainment tax in DELHI.
