Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory
Authority (PEMRA) invites applications under Section 19 of the PEMRA
Ordinance 2002 (as amended by PEMRA (Amendment) Act 2007) from the
companies (registered under Companies Ordinance 1984) interested in
establishing & operating a Direct-To-Home Distribution Service in
Pakistan.
Short Summary of Licensing Process
Number of License to be issued = 3
Base Price per License = 200 Million PKR (20 Karor)
Must carry on free to Air channels = 15
Satellite = Preferable Paksat 1R but other Satellites can be used as well
Start of Service = Successful Bidder must start service within 1 year otherwise License will be cancelled
Standard = STB, Service quality must meet european standards
Services can be offered through DTH = TV, Radio, Internet, Data, VoD, Catch-Up TV, Genre EPG, Push Vod, Series Linking, Value Added Service,
Last date to Submit an application for DTH License = 6th November, 2015
